Nuristan

Nuristan is a remote region of Afghanistan. This photographic exhibition portrays the life of these remote and interesting people. Taken by anthropologist Professor Schuyler Jones in the 1950's, the photographs show their day to day activities. The Nuristani are farmers living in the rugged Hindu Kush Mountains. There are spectacular views of villages built on the side of the mountains, people dancing and feasting at festivals, cooking, harvesting their crops, building their homes, and a host of other activities. Neff Hall, North Stairwell gallery, open 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Monday-Friday.
